St. George - 1/11/2011

Today we took off on a different hiking trail on Bear Claw Poppy Trail - there is so many different trails and we ended up hiking 2 1/2 hours.  Today is the first day that it has been cloudy and overcast and quite cold.  However, it was pretty comfortable hiking.  This afternoon we went down to the Visitor Center to ask about some different trails and then to the Post Office.  From there we went to a Sports store and then Barnes & Noble.  On the way home we stopped at the library and I asked a lady there what the temperature is like in the summer in St. George and she said it gets very hot (around 112 degrees or so) and doesn't cool off in the evenings.  Yikes!  She also indicated that it is extremely cold in St. George this winter which is quite unusual.  We must of brought this bad weather with us from Wisconsin!

Hope everyone is doing well!
